Ahhhh a new day and a new year! I think 2005 is going to be a great year for the Grosz family.
Got any good resolutions you want to share??
For a fun way to eat your "New Years black eyed peas", try this recipe. (My grandmother swore by the black-eyed pea tradition!)
TEXAS CAVIAR
In a LARGE bowl combine:
3 cans of black-eyed peas with Jalapeno peppers AND
2 cans black-eyed peas (drained together and rinsed in a colander)
one large purple onion diced
one small white onion diced
two green peppers diced
two medium tomatoes cubed
salt or garlic salt to taste (optional)
one medium bottle of Wishbone brand Italian dressing (Fat free works great)
Refrigerate and store in an airtight container. Keeps 3- 4 days.
Serve with tortilla chips in place of chunky salsa.
This recipe has become a tradition in our family for New Years Eve/Day ever since Clara Talley shared it with us nine years ago. Thank you Clare! It is so much a tradition that yesterday, during my all day paint-a-thon at the school, Rob decided to mix up a batch of it on his own. He did a great job! Chunkier than my version but, yum yum... and I am eating it now! Thanks honey!
Still cleaning and painting. Just four more days to get it all done! :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR BLOG FAMILY!
P.S. I am enabling anon. comments again for visitors to blogland and for the lady at HEB. (tell ya' later) Just don't cuss at me or rip on the President. OK? : )

Thanks!
Happy New Year, friends!
i think you are hot. if you were not already married i would be all over you.
Interesting....still don't think it would make me enjoy black-eyed peas (although my mother did make a great soup a couple of years ago that I might be willing to try again to get in that good luck)
Whoa, Stephanie, you have an admirer. Who respects your marriage, thankfully. I've never gotten a comment like that on MY blog ... *sigh* ... oh, well.
Happy New Year, blogfriend!!
Loving that anon comment!! AWESOME! OK so--what do you think about the name Emily Kate? A shout out to Martha Kate! Of course, we're hoping it will be SAM, but who knows? ONE MORE WEEK!
Loved your blog about Mike and his family. I think about him all the time. Any news on how he's doing?
Happy New Year!!! My only resolution this year is to TRY to get my picture albums in order. I did a great job with my first child, but when # 2 came along they all got messed up. Now I haven't even gotten some of my rolls of film developed from last year! I want to get all the pictures that I have stuffed in a big bag, in chronological order in nice, new albums. Wish me luck!!! BTW, I've never had black-eyed peas either. Saw it on your blog & BST's too - another Southern thing???
BST I love the name Emily Kate! But I am holding out for a SAM! And no I don't know anymore about Mike Martin. He has just really been on my heart this season.
As for Anon #2: I will take that as a huge compliment! My husband will too. Happy New Years everyone!
