What happens in Canton...

Stays in Canton!

I'm taking SJ to Dallas to fly home to her sweet family in the morning. We have had a fun four days together. We shopped north Dallas, Canton, and even Corsicana, Texas! We walked to much, spent too much, ate too much, got too lost in Tyler,Texas and laughed until we needed Depends! My legs hurt from walking, my back hurts from pushing that Canton cart all over, and my sides hurt from laughing. But my heart is so happy to have had these days with my dear friend! I wish she lived closer!

I have now been bitten by the Canton bug! Anyone want to go in November? December? (I have rules though. Only on Thursday or Friday and NO KIDS ALLOWED! Sorry but I've done it with kids and it's just not fun. for. anyone. )

Must go get some sleep so I will be able to get SJ to her plane on time! Hope you all had a great weekend! Hope to tell you more later but I can't tell much because that my new rule... What happens in Canton, stays in Canton!

Just wondering... Have you ever been to Canton? If so, what did you think? What was your favorite buy? vendor? food? tip? place to park? Etc? I will answer in comments when I get back!

I love love love Canton. I've only been a few times, but I always come home with treasures....new thimble cases, a great rocking chair, a fun snowman decoration for my front porch....

I now have the bug too. That was too much fun! Thanks again for everything.

Let's do it again sometime. But let's skip Tyler.

Yeah Tyler was a bit much! Come on people I know more of you have been to Canton! If not, maybe we should plan a blog trip!

My favorite vendor is Pam from Pam's Designs of Piittsburg, Texas. There are flower arrangements all over my house from Canton trips to Pam. One time my friend even called her to see what colors she was going to do that month to help us decide if we wanted to go! (We did!) She is still in the Arbor on the sigle aisle side by the food court. Get there early for the best selection. She has the best prices and the most practical, timeless arrangments around. I also LOVE Paul Michaels! Don't even get me started on that!

MY favorite food used to be the chicken salad on sweet sour dough from a vendor in the Arbor food court but that place was not there this time. I love, Love, LOVE the hand squeezed (when you order it) cherry limeade sold from a vendor located just outside the first pavillion on the HWY 19 side. It is THE BEST! AND the sugar/cinnamon pecans!

My tips.. Get there EARLY! Wear good walking shoes. Take Walkie-talkies or cell phones to stay together. Take a wagon, stroller or at least a back pack to help carry your purchases. Break into groups of two so you can cover more ground and see it all. Park under a tree in the firemen parking area by Trade Center I. I think Thursdays may be the best day to go... LOVE CANTON!

Hoping to plot my way back there next month!:)

Never heard of Canton before. I guess us Northerners are missing out - it sounds like fun! BTW - have you ever been to a Garden Ridge store? I hear they have some in Texas. I go every time I visit my brother-in-law & sister-in-law in North Carolina & I always come back with TONS of treasures!!!

This will sound crazy. But just remember and check it out when you go. You know that part that's Old Mill Marketplace and/or The Mountain? I love that place. You HAVE to visit the women's restrooms. It's on the left side of the mountain...looks like a regular not-too-great white old bathroom from the outside. Go on in. Take your camera. ;)
