Evil Virus Part Deux

Rhett woke up today with fever and a sore throat.
No ulcers. No blisters.
We went to see Dr K exactly 24 hours to the minute that we saw her the day before.
Rhett felt awful. Fever. Chills. Felt like he was going to puke.
They took us right back, laid Rhett down with a blanket and swabbed his throat.
No strep.
No ear infection.
No sinus infection.
No bladder infection.
Dadgumit!
It's another virus!
So in the last two days I've paid $50 dollars to hear, "There is nothing we can do. Treat the symptoms. We'll call you on the 5% chance that the rapid strep test was wrong and the culture grows out. "
Virus really is a bad word in our house.
What's the over/under on me letting Rhett go on his field trip to the zoo tomorrow anyway? And his Soccer Party Thursday night?
I may be becoming one of those Moms.
Getting less than three hours in a row of sleep three nights in a row will do that to you.
And make you cranky.
Not that I would know...

P.S. If you have 5 minutes and 22 seconds to kill, check out this video! It's mind boggling!

Sorry about the evil virus but I could listen to Michael Buble all day so I may visit your site over and over while he's singing!

I just read this post and the previous one about Ella Kate. I'm so sorry your babies are miserable. I wish I had some advice about Ella Kate's sores. My "Doctor's Book of Home Remedies" suggests holding a wet tea bag over mouth sores, but I doubt that would work with a toddler. Would she suck on popsicles? Or maybe just a ziplock bag filled with crused ice? She could just hold it in her mouth. Poor baby.
I'm praying for you.

That video is amazing!

I guess we are not going to NYC? That was supposed to be funny. Probably isn't right now, huh?
Sorry the kiddos are feeling so bad. That really stinks.
Call me when you can.

What an amazing young man in that video. However, having a 3 year old grandson on the autism spectrum, I can believe every bit of it. Our special fella never ceases to amaze us with the things he can do with numbers and his reading. He's a real blessing!

So sorry about Rhett and EK! My daughter has the same feelings about those nasty viruses. Hope they are both much better soon.

If he feels up to it, let Rhett go on his field trip!

SG--
You don't know me but I feel like I know you. I am Kari Baker's mother, and I have read your comments on Shannon's blog. I cried when I read your posting today...what the bumper stickers do and don't do.

God has blessed me these last two years with the people he has put in my life. Although we have never met, you have been a real blessing. You have lifted me up with your encouragement and given me strength.

Thank you. What may seem like such simple acts, are often precious gifts...you have given me precious gifts with your words.

Linda

PS---I am sorry about your sick kiddo!!! That virus has been a real booger.

I want to e-mail you today through Shannon, but just in case you check back here I want you to know how much your comment means to me. I want so badly for this to go to trial. I want Matt to have to answer for all the things he has done. I want Kensi and Grace to know the truth. I pray daily for that for that to happen. I think the world of you and your family for seeking justice for Kari. thank you for doing all you have done to to seek justice for your daughter and for seeking out the answers to the questions that so many of us were asking. You have my utmost respect and admiration!

I just read your comment on the other blog. Just wanted to let you know your words brought a lump to my throat. Well said my friend.
The very fact that you put ANY bumper sticker on your van is a big deal I know.
Hope everyone at your house is on the raod to recovery.
