Halloween Parade

Here is why Halloween is one of favorite holidays. No, I'm not into witches and spooky, evil, scarey stuff. But I love fall weather, costumes, dressing up, trick or treating, pumpkins on porches and the like. For the seven day countdown to Halloween, here is a little Costume parade of our last 7 Halloweens!

1998 This was our first Halloween with our little pumpkin...or Strawberry in this case. Don't we look young!

1999 Kolby is 20 months old and would not get her picture made at Sears. She was totally terrified of photographers. My friend Kristi snapped this one at a Halloween party. 2000 Our Hot Pink Leopard picture from whenshe was 2. (finally found it!)2001 Dorthy is 3 Toto is 6 weeks old. 2002 Tink & Peter Pan.

2003 Ariel and Cpt Feather Sword

2004

2005 (These pics are from the Sears website and are very blurry!) Padme & Anikin

I'm thinking I probably have a picture of the Pink Leopard somewhere. Love the pics, brought back some memories.

We never did the "theme" thing, but I have always loved Halloween and dressing up with my kids....I almost miss it...

I know that our theme years are numbered, if this is not the last. Kolby almost went as Cinderella but since she is into themes as much as I am, she just couldn't turn down the chance to be Padme... especially since we are just borrowing the costume from her cousin and almost all the kids in our family are going Star Wars this year, including the big kids!

How do you get them to agree on a theme? They always look so cute!

Cute pictures!

I saw your comment on my blog. That's funny that I look familiar to you because I have thought you looked familiar to me since I ran across your blog! I keep coming back to it and looking closer at your picture and reading it to get clues as how I might have known you.

I've figured out the ACU connection and you were a Siggie, right? I started at ACU in '91, pledged Siggies in '92. I graduated in '95. What years did you do those things? I'm wondering if maybe you knew my brother-in-law since he was older? His name is Mike Shanks. Maybe I saw you with him or with the girl he was dating at the time...Kelly Milligan? Do those names ring a bell?

OH my gosh, you married little Shanks! I knew your brother- in law and Kelly pretty well! I was their age. You pledged my senior year. I lived in the yellow house on Cedar Creat where the one of those pledging pictures was taken. So fun to re-meet you here in blog land! Tell me how Mike is doing!

Little Shanks! Yep, that's who I married!

Mike is doing well. He married a very sweet girl. I guess it was August of 1992 when they got married. They have a baby girl who will be 1 in February. They live in Abilene but are moving this November. He is an optometrist.

I knew you looked familiar. Who was your Little Sis your Senior year? Did you live with Susan Beustring and Joy and those girls?

Jacinda said...

oops! Not 1992....2002 is when Mike got married!

I was a year older than Susan And Joy. I lived with Tiffany Hochdorf, Angie Griggs, and Martha Kate Stallings. It is sad that I don't remember my little sis that year...maybe Kristin Cottier? I lived in the house that Julie Griggs, Tracey Elliot and co. lived in after we left. Glad to hear Mike is doing well. I was not too active in Siggies my senior year, though I lived with all the officers. Glad to know who you are!

Ah! Okay. I think Mike still gets together each year with Martha Kate & some of the other friends from that group.

I remember the yellow house now that you told me who all lived there.

Chris (my husband) looked at your picture and remembered your face. Small world!!!!

If it's okay, I'll add your page to my list of links.
